International Day of Peace

On September 21, 2004, "Women And Children Development Org, IPB, WPPS, URI celebrated international peace prayer day with the collaboration IPB, WPPS and URI.

The Ceremony started with the prayer for peace in the world. Special prayers were offered for the Peace of India, Peace of Pakistan, Peace of Kashmir, and the Peace of Afghanistan and Iraq.

During the walk, children raised slogans that said "STOP THE WAR" "NO WEAPEONS - NO WAR" and "MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH".

Children were holding different placards on which it was written, "WE ARE PEACE BUILDERS" "WE ARE PEACE WAR" and "WE ARE THE PEACE LOVERS".

Flags of different countries made the ceremony colourful. The ceremony was ended with a peace song.

Celebration of the Birthday of Ram Krishna Gee At Lahore

On September 7, 2004 Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sheik and Parsi together celebrated the birthday of Ram Krishna Gee at Krishna Mender Ravi Road. It was sign of love and unity among all the religion. The delegation from India also participated in celebration. The Indian delegation was very impressed by the hospitality of Pakistani People. They are very hopeful for the better relation between Pakistan and India.

Sr. Livina Herman Gill, Francis Xavier, Mohammad Khalid Mayo and Younis Srdar represented WPPS and URI.

Skill Training Program

On September 4, 2004 BIM issued certificates to the women, who completed their skill training in Youhanabad Center. It was a ceremony of peace and harmony between Christian and Muslim. The program was started with the reading from Holy Quran and Holy Bible. The young women who finished their training exchanged gifts and greeting cards. Sister Livina Herman Gill, the Chairperson and founder of the Women and Children Programs, encouraged the students. She admired the students and teacher who continued their training even in the very hot weather. She also appreciated the parents who gave permission to their young daughters to join our training program. She also advised the student that they should continue their work when they will go back to their places. They should teach other girls who are not able to come to the center. She promised the students that if any one of them will open a Sewing Center in her village, she will provide services and financial help to them for the training center. The teachers and students also thanked the management and benefactor of the Women and Children Development Program who make this Skill Training Program and workshops for social awareness for them.

Sewing, Cutting, Glass Work, Embroidery, Gardening, Computer Training, Wool Work, Spoken English.

Workshops for Social Awareness, Peace Education for Women, Health and Physical Education
